AboveNet Provides High Bandwidth Connectivity for Soho Data Centre Expansion

AboveNet to deliver fibre optic solution to support Soho Data's demanding business requirements

White Plains, N.Y. and London, July 12th, 2011 -- AboveNet, Inc. (NYSE: ABVT), a leading provider of high bandwidth connectivity solutions, today announced it will provide fibre connectivity into Soho Data Centre, part of the Vision Holding group of companies that specialise in delivering a range of internet TV and traditional broadcast services located in London.

AboveNet currently provides IP services as part of Vision IPTV's private CDN (content delivery network), providing clients with secure private managed connections. This service is optimised in particular for high quality global video distribution over the public internet. By utilising AboveNet's private fibre optic network and IP services, Vision IPTV will have access to resilient, secure data transfer which meets both current and future networking needs.

In January, Soho Data Holdings entered into a definitive agreement with Xiking Culture Media to create a new 4,000sqm high-specification data centre and render farm, dedicated to the creative video and TV industries. As part of this major project, Soho Data Centre is expanding its legacy network connection to Telehouse to include new diverse IP transit connectivity using AboveNet's optical network. AboveNet's diverse fibre will provide resilient support to Soho Data Centre's IP infrastructure, so that it can offer high quality and flexible capacity of bandwidth to its media clients.
