Private Fibre and Internet Connectivity

Our Tier-1 connectivity is optimised in particular for high quality video distribution over the private WAN and over the public internet.

Video files and streams are hosted using the latest generation servers equipped with fastest SSD drives. Servers are directly connected to the internet backbone via minimum two separate tier-1 providers. We operate our own BGP4 routing infrastructure, therefore we can assist clients easily with multitier connectivity options.

By connecting directly to the backbone of the global internet and controlling the routing of our traffic, we minimise the number of hops our video streams go through between us and the client devices, maximising picture quality, and the viewing experience.

SohoDataCentre™ is also directly connected to XtremeIPTV™ content distribution network operated by its sister company VisionIPTV™. In addition to the internet CDN, Soho Data is also peered with sister company Playout247™ to an extensive private video fibre network, connecting many major broadcast uplink teleports. Playout247™ video network includes multiple SDI lines to/from BT Tower and bridging service from/to IP/ASI/SDI. This gives SohoDataCentre™ clients a simple, low cost access to deliver or pull the content from anywhere in the world.

Private Cloud Application Hosting

Our cloud offering provides virtual servers and private servers with dynamic elastic scalability to accommodate flexible processing and file storage requirements, while providing visibility and access to hardware which is running clients application. Using a shared infrastructure allocated and configured as private computational and/or storage systems, can give great economic advantages, removing capex and operational overheads from our media clients.

Managed Servers

We use the very latest generation servers for ultimate power and performance.

Take the whole server or run a virtual one; choice of latest high end hardware is available and can be custom configured to fit exact requirements:

• 6 or 10 core Intel Xeon processors (1,2,3 or 4 sockets systems).
• Latest generation SSD storage as standard.
• DDR3 RDIMM memory custom sized per application requirements.
• Large RAID storage subsystems configured per application requirements.
• All major operating systems supported (standard configuration includes FreeBSD MPS, Linux MPS, Linux MPS with cPanel or Windows Server 2008 R2).

Managed Private Servers

Dedicated servers can be rented, allowing clients to retain exclusive use of the hosting infrastructure, while our support team will manage the server hardware, software and your administration tools. Servers can be configured with up to 4x 10 core CPUs and large storage subsystems, multiple servers can be configured in clusters managed by embedded load balancing units.

Managed Virtual Servers

Our managed virtual server solutions combine the secure control of having a dedicated server rack with the economical efficiencies of a shared hosting infrastructure.

Secure Data Storage

We provide RAID data storage and backup services with flexible and fast access via private fibre and/or secure Tier-1 public internet access. RAID systems are equipped with SAS, FC, iSCSI interfaces, and can be configured as SAN or NAS.
